Angelica Academy

One of the things I like to do is to take old pictures and try to make them into a clear drawing.  This commission was a real challenge.  The building burned in 1870 and I was working from the only know photo of the building.  If anyone out there has or knows of another photo we would love to hear about it.  This if a 7×10 inch drawing on claybord.

The original central portion was probably built in the 1830's 
or prior.  The wings were added in 1856.  Narcissa Prentiss and Marcus Whitman 
were married there February 18, 1836 while it was still the Angelica 
Presbyterian Church.
