Auntie’s Place was established October 3, 1998 at 8143 Pinewoods Rd. in Rushford, NY. It is a place where you can learn artistic skills and techniques all within a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
We have two certified art teachers, Sarah Phillips and Sally Ann Miller. Sally helps with composition and offering a final critique. Her specialties are colored pencil and oil pastel. Sarah works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, scratchboard and pencil, along with a number of crafts. They both are retired and spend a lot of time in the studio.
With a wide variety of tools and supplies available, you can explore a number of different media without having to purchase materials before knowing what you really enjoy working with. Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. If you plan on staying all day, please bring your lunch. The cost for the day is $5, which includes some supplies. Teaching is done on an individual basis as we assist you with your particular project.
Some students have been with us since our opening, but new students are accepted any time and no previous art experience is necessary. We have students who travel under ten minutes, to those who travel for an hour and a half.
A number of special workshops are also offered throughout the year.
